The mission of the Blair County Health and Welfare Council is to promote the general health and welfare of Blair County residents. Provide education and information to the public on health and human service needs, services, and resources. Promote coordination and collaboration of community services and resources among council members. Conduct studies to identify and evaluate health and human service needs, services, and resources. READY PA is a special educational project, delivered through Penn State Cooperative Extension and the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DOH), to help Pennsylvania’s special populations become better prepared to stay safe and secure during a disaster, or during a pandemic.

With the support of PA DOH, Cooperative Extension is inviting County-based service providers who interact with various groups of individuals identified as Pennsylvania’s special populations to consider becoming a local partner in delivering this program.
All of the educational materials have been developed by Penn State Cooperative Extension, and your agency staff will be trained in their use. Extension will work with your agency and provide the materials and resources needed to deliver this information to clients. Extension is also available to deliver the program directly to your clients if your agency is not able to do so.
